Between Night and Day captures a transitional moment—fleeting, strange, and full of tension. It’s that quiet space between two worlds, where the brightness of day has almost disappeared, but full darkness hasn’t yet arrived. A time when things begin to blur, shift, and take on a different meaning.
This track was born from that concept. I wanted to write something that feels like standing on the edge—of light, of certainty, of clarity. The first half begins with a kind of pulse, energetic and rhythmic, almost hopeful. But as the piece unfolds, the mood shifts. The melodies twist, the bass deepens, and things begin to unravel. By the end, you’re somewhere else entirely—adrift in a darker, more uncertain space.
It’s not just about contrast—it’s about transformation. That slow but inevitable slip from one state to another. I experimented with layering sounds that shouldn’t normally coexist, pushing textures and tones to meet in unexpected ways. There’s an intentional imbalance built into the track, mimicking the moment when things start to feel different, but you can’t quite explain why.
Between Night and Day is a sonic exploration of those liminal moments—between energy and stillness, brightness and shadow, comfort and mystery. I hope it pulls you in and leaves you slightly disoriented—in the best possible way.
